Hi, I’m Marcey Grant, and I’ve dedicated my life to helping others discover the true power of holistic beauty. As a Certified Trichologist, Cosmetologist, and Beauty & Wellness Coach, I believe that beauty isn’t just skin-deep. For over 25 years, I’ve witnessed firsthand how nourishing the body from within transforms hair, skin and confidence. This passion for connecting health with beauty led me to create Look Beyond Beauty, a brand revolutionizing how we care for ourselves, inside out.

I started Look Beyond Beauty out of a deep desire to guide people on a journey of self-care and empowerment. My own experiences, both personal and professional, have shown me that when we prioritize our health, we radiate beauty naturally. Whether through one-on-one consultations, personalized meal plans, or hair and scalp treatments, I am here to help you look beyond the surface and discover the beauty that comes from living a balanced, healthy life.

Hairstyling Comes Natural To Me
Hair was always something that came naturally to me. In my teens, I would gather the little girls from my neighborhood onto my front porch, braiding and styling their hair with the care of someone much older. It wasn’t long before their mothers started sending them my way with dollar bills tucked into their small hands. Soon, the boys in the neighborhood joined the line for “Hair by Marcey.” And just like that, my journey in beauty began.
I Never Imagined That...
The skills I was honing on that porch would one day shape my career and my life. Working with hair became more than a talent; it became my makeover and calling. When I left Belize, the country I loved, it was with a heavy heart. But I knew I had to step into my true purpose. It was time to embrace my passion for beauty. So, I earned a business degree, became a certified cosmetologist, and began my career as a professional hairstylist.
The Beauty Industry
The beauty industry introduced me to extraordinary women who were strong, confident, and driven by their purpose. My client list grew to include Golden Globe Award-winning actors, celebrities, and socialites. Each inspiring me with their confidence and dedication to their craft. Like attracts like, I began seeing how my journey paralleled theirs. They used their unique gifts to touch the world, and I wanted to do the same.

And that’s how I want my hair to be touched, like it’s precious.” Consequently, this is the philosophy I bring to every client I meet. That is, treat their hair as something precious and valuable. Yes, I’m passionate about hair, but it goes deeper than that. I believe in nurturing the entire person — body, mind, and spirit.

Today, I’ve expanded my approach to healthy hair by creating my signature line of natural, healthy hair extensions. I am committed to ensuring that the integrity of my client's natural hair remains intact. Even as they enjoy the benefits of these innovative extensions. By weaving together my skills as a Certified Trichologist, Cosmetologist, and Holistic Health Coach, I offer clients more than just beautiful hairstyles. I also offer a path to health and wellness from the inside out.

My life is a rich tapestry woven from the diverse threads of my culture. Reflecting the beautiful blend of communities that call Belize home. Growing up, I was surrounded by the lively rhythms of Creole, Garifuna, Maya, Mestizo, Spanish, and a significant Chinese presence. Each contributing their unique traditions, foods, and music to our shared experience.
Belize, as a former British colony, has a history that profoundly influences our identity. English is our official language, guiding our education and media. But the lively Patois or Belizean Creole, flows through our daily conversations and connects us all. This melting pot of cultures taught me the value of community from an early age. And I quickly learned how holistic living and natural foods nourish both the body and spirit.

My grandmother played a pivotal role in my life. She introduced me to the warmth of our church community and instilled in me the importance of faith. These influences became the bedrock of my identity, teaching me that love and spirituality are vital in life.
Discipline and respect were values I learned early on. My grandmother often reminded me of the importance of carrying myself with grace. For example, how to sit like a lady, dress impeccably, and greet our elders with the respect they deserve. I was the kid who lit up family gatherings. Always excited to dress up and share in the joy of our celebrations. Singing in the church choir with my sister and participating in school events gave me a sense of purpose and belonging.

My mother stepped into the role of primary caregiver, supported by our loving extended family. During my summers in the U.S., I experienced a new culture while cherishing the connections across borders. During these times, I truly understood the saying, “It takes a village.” I witnessed firsthand how community support and familial love shaped our lives.

These moments fostered my connection to the earth and inspired my holistic lifestyle. The fresh fruits, herbs, and spices we used in cooking became central to my daily life. For me, food was more than just nourishment. It was also a celebration — a way to bring family together and honor our heritage.
